My father had an exceptional singing voice. His baritone could always be heard above most of the congregation during the hymns at church.
But the best singing was in the car when we were traveling. AM radio was the best technology at the time and was spotty at best. My favorite was:
"Your red scarf matches your eyes.
You close your cover before striking.
Father's got the shipfitters blues.
Loving you has made me bananas."
And of course he sang it to elicit the most laughter from us children. My....he could really sing.
