Giants Win! Giants Win! Giants Win!

Buster Posey, Timmy Lincecum, Barry Zito, Pablo "Kung Fu Panda" Sandoval, Marco "Blockbuster" Scutaro, Brandon Belt, Angel Pagan, Hunter "Intense" Pence, Gregor Blanco, Ryan Vogelsong, Matt Cain, Brandon Crawford, Ryan Theriot, Dave Righetti, Bruce Bochy........

The most important thing to these guys was that the guy next to them was smiling and happy.  This will remain one of baseball's, nay sports, best stories. They survived six elimination games to beat the much vaunted, favored Tigers.  It was all about the team and not about the individual.

During my 49 years as a die-hard Giants fan, my Giants have won 2 out of the last 3 years.  We don't talk about 1989.

And my black beard worked...!!!  Fear the beard...!!!  (Not original...Was said about Brian Wilson.)

Romo and Wilson

Brian Wilson

Sergio Romo

Gotta love it.  My Giants are back in the World Series having last been there in 2010 when they won it all after waiting like forever.

Brian Wilson is out with Tommy John's surgery but Sergio Romo has pitched flawlessly taking the closer role in stride.

Both are "characters" and share the trademark jet black beard and dugout antics.  If you google it, you can see Sergio "Romobombing" teammates and media alike.  He did it to Pablo "Kung Fu Panda" Sandoval who hit three home runs in the Giants win over the vaunted Tigers a couple nights ago in game one of the World Series.

Being a Giants fan since I was eight (yes, that was 1963), I am ecstatic my Giants are headed to Detroit with a 2-0 lead.  Warren Spahn and Juan Marichal pitched full games for 16 innings with the Giants prevailing 1-0 on a Willie Mays homer in the 16th.  I was hooked.

So much I just decided to support the Giants with my own jet black beard.  And I did my top knot the same for good measure.  My wife almost called the police when she came home thinking I had broken into the house.

Join me, dye all your hair black (if you want)  and be a Giant.  Nuthin' like it in sports.  My whole life I have pondered what vocation I would have done in this earthly life if given the chance.  Yeah, you guessed it.  And I would be a catcher.

Yeah, I know.
